Head of Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division (IBD) in Asia Ex-Japan (AEJ)
Iain Drayton (Trinity Hall 1991) has worked in investment banking since his graduation from 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ in 1995. He is head of Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division (IBD) in Asia Ex-Japan (AEJ). Iain serves on the Board of Advisors for Launch With GS, Goldman Sachs’ commitment to invest in companies and investment managers with diverse leadership, and he is also a sponsor of the Asia Pacific Black and Hispanic/Latinx Network. Prior to joining GS, Iain worked in London and Tokyo for SBC Warburg from 1995 to 2000 and Nikko Citigroup from 2000 to 2006.
He has been a longstanding supporter of 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ and other universities, spearheading the philanthropic efforts behind the ‘Get in 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳’ campaign which supports the University’s efforts to reach student applications from underrepresented minority groups and now offers a number of bursaries to eligible students. Iain serves on the board of the China Development Foundation, a non-profit focused on reducing the opportunity gap between rural and urban schools in China. He is a founding member of the American Ballet Theater Global Council, and co-founder of RIAC [Responsible Influence in Arts and Culture], a UK based initiative geared towards creating next generation board membership in the arts.
